14th November 2022
It has been a busy first term for those taking part in team sports this year as part of our +Active programme. Over 140 students have played 60 fixtures so far this season, representing the College on a Wednesday afternoon in Surrey, the South East and beyond.
As England World Cup fever reached its height our 1st Football Team qualified for the knockout stages of the England Schools Football Association (ESFA) Super League Trophy after a 2-1 win against Gordon’s School, to much celebration. The team were delighted with goal scorers Joe Lincoln and Harry Black, Man of the Match went to Vinnie Martin. The team are now in the last 32, with a game against Portsmouth College in January. We wish them every success.
The Women’s Football Team have also enjoyed a good season so far, reaching the last 16 of the Association of Colleges (AoC) National Cup, a great achievement. Unfortunately, they will not progress after meeting a very strong team from BHASVIC last week.
The Men’s Rugby Team are currently holding 2nd place in the AoC South East Rugby Union League and the Mixed Hockey Team are currently 5th in the AoC South East League.
Meanwhile the Ladies Hockey Team have reached the quarter finals of the AoC National Cup, again we wish this team every success as they progress to the next stage. Congratulations go to Hockey players from 91精品视频; Ben Field, Tristan Gowdy, Eleanor Francis, Kate Cudbertson, Darcy Ingham and Violet Eames who have been selected to play for the AoC’s English Colleges’ Hockey Squad.
Congratulations also to Kay Davies who has qualified for the National Championships in Cross Country.
We look forward to another exciting term of high-quality sport in the new year as we take part in national championships, local leagues and tournaments.
